Fortnite’s Star Wars season is over, Emperor Palpatine has been defeated, and now it’s time for something completely different. Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3: Super is putting DC Comics on the battle pass for the first time since Chapter 2–and, amusingly, that one also had Superman on it. Let’s take a closer look at what Chapter 6 Season 3 has in store for us, from the new battle pass, to map changes, to all those new weapons. Fortnite Battle Pass Chapter 6 Season 3It’s been a very long time since we’ve had any DC Comics characters on the Fortnite battle pass–four years, in fact. The last time it happened was Chapter 2 Season 7, when the pass included the only previous Superman skin that Fortnite has ever had. Until now.The new Chapter 6 Season 3 battle pass is all about superheroes, and it features two DC Comics skins, Robin and Superman. Robin is the skin that you receive instantly when buying the pass, and the Superman skin, which is based on the likeness of new Superman star David Corenswet, will be the mid-season unlock.Though for the first time ever, Fortnite will allow you to buy the mid-season battle pass skin early–this season’s Battle Bundle, which gives you 25 battle pass levels for 1800 V-Bucks, will also include early access to the new Superman skin.Aside from Superman and Robin, the new battle pass will include six new Fortnite original skins, most of whom are also superhero types. Here are their names:Haylee SkyeZiggySynthwaveKillswitchLightriderMorgan MystYou can check out the entire pile of battle pass rewards in our gallery here. Fortnite map Chapter 6 Season 3Surprisingly, all of the Star Wars towns at the corners of the map will stick around for Season 3. But there are also, of course, three brand-new spots: Demon’s Doman is where you’ll find a new version of Daigo to fight, Utopia City (pictured) is a slick new makeover for Seaport City, and the Supernova Academy will be a new hotspot for folks looking for powers–it has rooms full of hero items that anyone with the appropriate hero rank can access, or you can buy them with gold bars. You can read more about what’s changed on the island in our rundown of map changes here. New NPC bossesThis season will start with two NPC bosses on the map. The newly corrupted Daigo will be hanging out at Demon’s Domain (pictured), and defeating him will grant you a mythic Spire Rifle and the Infernal Defenses medallion, which increases your reload speed and lets you regenerate part of your shield. The other boss is Kor, the character from Chapter 2 Season 8 who ended up becoming one of the most popular battle pass skins ever. Kor lives in the woods of Magic Mosses, and defeating her grants a mythic DMR and the Shrouded Striker Medallion, which makes you invisible while you’re doing a sprint jump. New weapons and powers in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3Your arsenal this season will be a mix of superpowers and some rather unusual guns. It doesn’t appear as though any of the weapons from Season 2 will be returning. The highlight of the arsenal may not actually be a normal weapon, but a dog treat that summons Superman’s dog, Krypto, to help you in battle. You can read up on the entire new arsenal here. Become a true Fortnite HeroDuring each round of battle royale this season, you and your squad will be judged by your performance–the better you play, the faster you’ll progress through each of the superhero ranks. Everybody starts at C rank, and every time you rank up you’ll receive full health and a cache of items and weapons. And C rank itself includes a small cache, apparently indicating that everyone will receive a random weapon at the start of a round without needing to loot for it.In order to progress your rank, you just need to play the game–getting kills, surviving storm phases, tossing a sprite into a shrine, and defeating hostile NPCs all contribute, and your team shares the rank. And if you max out your rank, you’ll receive all the boons you don’t already have. Speaking of which… Boons and sprites are backA couple of notable features from Seasons 1 and 2 are coming: boons and sprites. There will be four boons in Season 3, all of which are new and will provide better benefits as you level up your hero rank. The Storm Caller boon replenishes your shield while you’re in the storm, and gives storm forecast at S Rank. The Speed Healer boon lets you sprint while using healing items, and all healing items give the Slap effect (unlimited sprint for a short period). The Combat Acrobat boon partially reloads your equipped weapon when you do any parkour mechanic like mantling. At S Rank, it reloads all the weapons in your inventory. The Heightened Senses boon marks players who attack you. At S Rank, it decreases the cooldown between instances.Sprites are also returning, but there will be completely new ones. The Dash Sprite grants three dash charges, a la the Hades dashes from Chapter 5, and the Superman Sprite blasts your enemies with laser eyes. Whoa. When does Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 end?Super Season will run for about two months, and will conclude on August 8. That will make Super one of Fortnite’s shortest full seasons ever.
